Not a radio station, but an acronym for "What's In It For Me?" I have been told this is a very selfish question, but I find it quite human. When something changes or my help is solicited, I tend to ask this question. So do your workers! When you introduce a new rule or program, do you explain the rationale behind it and how it will impact and help individuals? Dictates get hands and feet moving, but hearts and minds are moved by the human impact reflected in the rationale.
We can get caught up in what to do and forget about why we are doing it. We can also take for granted that everyone knows the rationale that is obvious to us. Don't fall into these traps. Make sure everyone knows the "why" so they can answer the WIIFM question.
