Have you ever felt guilty that you had a little free time and didn't use it to work on safety? Have you ever been really tired but pushed yourself to put in those few extra hours? Well, QUIT IT! Working harder is almost NEVER the answer.

Quit measuring the hours you put in and start measuring the value you add. Rest when you are tired and use your free time to refresh your mind so you are more effective when you return to work. There is no correlation between hard work and good safety. There is a correlation between smart work and good safety. Develop a strategy that adds value to safety and measure every activity by the amount of value added, then quit with the time cards and guilt trips.
